New Years Resolutions

Its time for New Years Resolutions once again. My resolutions for last year were derailed by becoming pregnant with my second son, but now that he's born and very healthy, I am ready to get right back where I was headed at the start of last year, with now even MORE inspiration and reason to better my life! The theme for this years goals more than any other is "self discipline." Here goes:

Physical goals:

Lose 50 lbs. my son was nearly 11 lbs at birth (thank God for C-sections!) so I have quite a bit of weight to lose. To do that I need to:

Do physical activity of some kind for 30 minutes everyday. This could be taking a few walks, doing yoga, or some hard core gym work. My main purpose is to make sure I keep moving.

Eat right. I don't have a problem doing this at all. In fact, before the holiday season I was a stickler about this. Two weeks of holiday makes it necessary for a detox this week. Time to start going to the farmers market on the weekends again.

Improve ergonomics. I need to by an exercise ball for sitting at my computer desk ASAP.


Financial goals:

Last year I had a goal of monthly income. I have reached that by working from home. I'm tripling it this year.

Etsy shops need to start making more sales. My goal is to make 20 sales per month.

Saving money. My goal is also to save triple what I saved this year.

Paying off debt. The only debt I have are a few medical bills, one credit card and a lot of student loans. My goal is to get rid of as much as possible.


Spiritual goals:

Yoga every morning. I'll take one day of rest from yoga per week.

Read one well chosen book per month. This means a book that is inspirational or informative in some way.

Write a chapter per week and finish the book I've been writing for 3 years.

Get my first tattoo. I finally know what I want.


Art goals:

Draw/sketch everyday. I will be assigning sketchbooks to certain bags and certain areas of the house. No strict rules as to what to draw, but I need to get drawing o. A regular basis again. I'm an illustrator for goodness sakes!

Sketch 3 request sketches for at tattoo.com everyday.

Finish two paintings, digital or traditional, of any size and style every month.

Do 12 shows this year.

Family goals:

Become a much more active family. I need to be active with the kids as much as I can!

Have the kids in a sport or other active activity at all times.

I want to be more creative with the kids. I need to make it a point to create with them and take them to creative and inspiring places
way more!

Family game night once a week. In hot weather family swim or beach days can take the place of this.


These are the main things. I start tomorrow, so I'm forcing myself to get to bed early tonight!
